Hillborough (San Francisco), CA
Just outside of San Francisco, in the hills of Silicon Valley, this gorgeous young family found their home. It needed some work to satisfy their eclectic and laid back life style…..taking into consideration that three young boys certainly were not going to pay attention to Mom’s delicate dining table while having dinner…….
First we addressed the flow between rooms, how they were connected, or rather, not connected. Walls between the family and dining room and to the kitchen, were opened up, old cabinetry and wet bar removed and audio/visual rewired. Steps were built between the dining and family room levels with cowhide covered drawer benches on either side of the steps. All cabinetry in the family room was custom designed, the doors were designed based on an old art deco design, handles are made of horn and brass. Doors were added to the hallway open shelving to create more storage and less clutter while keeping the existing old details in tact. Both the living room and family room have sectional sofas, both rooms are used informally. TV cabinet and Play station cabinet for the boys were custom designed by Roop Rang. All lighting and furniture was selected to create an unique, cozy, up-to-date, comfortable and durable environment. All art was made by Roop Rang. For before/after photo’s click here.
